SHARKS Read4Real meets on Fridays during each of the scheduled lunches.
The core of our club is based on Florida Association of Media in Education's booklist, Florida Teens Read (FTR). Members are surveyed and top three books are read in whole group. The next few titles are selected in a Book Tasting activity, where students can choose what they'd like to read and share in small groups and then with the rest of the group (Jigsaw). The club reads are rounded to 10 based on Battle of the Books competition. Members can read the remaining titles at their leisure. |

The Mason Project
Service project 2024
Sharks Read-4-Real Book Club will also participate in a community service throughout the year. The focus of this project is children's books. Each time a book is read to Shark Pups, a selected object will be placed in a Mason Jar to represent the book. At the end of the year, these items will be randomly selected to revisit the books. Students get to take home the personalized Mason Jar and copies of featured books. Book Club members can opt to participate, if their schedules allow.
